A Typhoon Experiences

Metro Manila, Philippines

This is a video about the devastating typhoon "Pedring" (Nesat). This comes from this Youtube User as he films his experience during the land fall of Typhoon Pedring. This is how strong the "Pedring" typhoon was. Right now, another storm surge is being experienced. God protect us all.

By definition, Storm Surge is an offshore rise of water associated with a low pressure weather system. It frequently occurs when a typhoon or hurricane makes landfall. The strong winds made by a certain typhoon causes the water to pile up higher than the ordinary sea level. It is also known as abnormal rise of water generated by a storm, over and above the predicted astronomical tides. This rise in water level can cause extreme flooding in coastal areas particularly when storm surge coincides with normal high tide, resulting in storm tides reaching up to 20 feet or more in some cases. This was what happened in Manila Bay area.
