I listened to a Sunday preaching this morning (10.Feb.2013 EST). The Bible verse topic which was preached is about Ecclesiastes. I admit that this verse really hits me because this is so true and it carries the saying "there is a reason for everything".
The book of Ecclesiastes has fascinated many people. Some feel it is the most puzzling book in the Old Testament. It has been called one of the most melancholy books of the Bible. It has been used by some to teach that man ceases to exist after death.
It is not a book that Christians should ignore. As with all Old Testament Scripture, it was written for our learning (Romans 15:4) and admonition (1Collosians 10:11). It is therefore profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness (2Timothy 3:16-17). [quoted].

1천하에 범사가 기한이 있고 모든 목적이 이룰 때가 있나니
2날 때가 있고 죽을 때가 있으며 심을 때가 있고 심은 것을 뽑을 때가 있으며
3죽일 때가 있고 치료 시킬 때가 있으며 헐 때가 있고 세울 때가 있으며
4울 때가 있고 웃을 때가 있으며 슬퍼할 때가 있고 춤출 때가 있으며
5돌을 던져 버릴 때가 있고 돌을 거둘 때가 있으며 안을 때가 있고 안는 일을 멀리 할 때가 있으며
6찾을 때가 있고 잃을 때가 있으며 지킬 때가 있고 버릴 때가 있으며
7찢을 때가 있고 꿰맬 때가 있으며 잠잠할 때가 있고 말할 때가 있으며
8사랑할 때가 있고 미워할 때가 있으며 전쟁할 때가 있고 평화할 때가 있느니라
9일하는 자가 그 수고로 말미암아 무슨 이익이 있으랴 10하나님이 인생들에게 노고를 주사 애쓰게 하신 것을 내가 보았노라
11하나님이 모든 것을 지으시되 때를 따라 아름답게 하셨고 또 사람에게 영원을 사모하는 마음을 주셨느니라 그러나 하나님의 하시는 일의 시종을 사람으로 측량할 수 없게 하셨도다
12사람이 사는 동안에 기뻐하며 선을 행하는 것보다 나은 것이 없는 줄을 내가 알았고 13사람마다 먹고 마시는 것과 수고함으로 낙을 누리는 것이 하나님의 선물인 줄을 또한 알았도다 14무릇 하나님의 행하시는 것은 영원히 있을 것이라 더 할 수도 없고 덜 할 수도 없나니 하나님이 이같이 행하심은 사람으로 그 앞에서 경외하게 하려 하심인 줄을 내가 알았도다 15이제 있는 것이 옛적에 있었고 장래에 있을 것도 옛적에 있었나니 하나님은 이미 지난 것을 다시 찾으시느니라
16내가 해 아래서 또 보건대 재판하는 곳에 악이 있고 공의를 행하는 곳에도 악이 있도다 17내가 심중에 이르기를 의인과 악인을 하나님이 심판하시리니 이는 모든 목적과 모든 일이 이룰 때가 있음이라 하였으며. 18내가 심중에 이르기를 인생의 일에 대하여 하나님이 저희를 시험하시리니 저희로 자기가 짐승보다 다름이 없는 줄을 깨닫게 하려 하심이라 하였노라 19인생에게 임하는 일이 짐승에게도 임하나니 이 둘에게 임하는 일이 일반이라 다 동일한 호흡이 있어서 이의 죽음 같이 저도 죽으니 사람이 짐승보다 뛰어남이 없음은 모든것이 헛됨이로다 20다 흙으로 말미암았으므로 다 흙으로 돌아가나니 다 한 곳으로 가거니와 21인생의 혼은 위로 올라가고 짐승의 혼은 아래 곧 땅으로 내려가는 줄을 누가 알랴 22그러므로 내 소견에는 사람이 자기 일에 즐거워하는 것보다 나은 것이 없나니 이는 그의 분복이라 그 신후사를 보게 하려고 저를 도로 데리고 올 자가 누구이랴
< 전도서 4 >>
1내가 돌이켜 해 아래서 행하는 모든 학대를 보았도다 오호라 학대 받는 자가 눈물을 흘리되 저희에게 위로자가 없도다 저희를 학대하는 자의 손에는 권세가 있으나 저희에게는 위로자가 없도다 2그러므로 나는 살아 있는 산 자보다 죽은지 오랜 죽은 자를 복되다 하였으며 3이 둘보다도 출생하지 아니하여 해 아래서 행하는 악을 보지 못한 자가 더욱 낫다 하였노라.
4내가 또 본즉 사람이 모든 수고와 여러 가지 교묘한 일로 인하여 이웃에게 시기를 받으니 이것도 헛되어 바람을 잡으려는 것이로다 5우매자는 손을 거두고 자기 살을 먹느니라 6한 손에만 가득하고 평온함이 두 손에 가득하고 수고하며 바람을 잡으려는 것보다 나으니라
7내가 또 돌이켜 해 아래서 헛된 것을 보았도다 8어떤 사람은 아들도 없고 형제도 없으니 아무도 없이 홀로 있으나 수고하기를 마지아니하며 부를 눈에 족하게 여기지 아니하면서도 이르기를 내가 누구를 위하여 수고하고 내 심령으로 낙을 누리지 못하게 하는고 하나니 이것도 헛되어 무익한 노고로다
9두 사람이 한 사람보다 나음은 저희가 수고함으로 좋은 상을 얻을 것임이라 10혹시 저희가 넘어지면 하나가 그 동무를 붙들어 일으키려니와 홀로 있어 넘어지고 붙들어 일으킬 자가 없는 자에게는 화가 있으리라 11두 사람이 함께 누우면 따뜻하거니와 한 사람이면 어찌 따뜻하랴 12한 사람이면 패하겠거니와 두 사람이면 능히 당하나니 삼겹 줄은 쉽게 끊어지지 아니하느니라

2초상집에 가는 것이 잔치집에 가는 것보다 나으니 모든 사람의 결국이 이와 같이 됨이라 산 자가 이것에 유심하리로다
3슬픔이 웃음보다 나음은 얼굴에 근심함으로 마음이 좋게 됨이니라
4지혜자의 마음은 초상집에 있으되 우매자의 마음은 연락하는 집에 있느니라
5사람이 지혜자의 책망을 듣는 것이 우매자의 노래를 듣는 것보다 나으니라
6우매자의 웃음 소리는 솥 밑에서 가시나무의 타는 소리 같으니 이것도 헛되니라

13하나님의 행하시는 일을 보라 하나님이 굽게 하신 것을 누가 능히 곧게 하겠느냐
14형통한 날에는 기뻐하고 곤고한 날에는 생각하라 하나님이 이 두 가지를 병행하게 하사 사람으로 그 장래 일을 능히 헤아려 알지 못하게 하셨느니라
15내가 내 헛된 날에 이 모든 일을 본즉 자기의 의로운 중에서 멸망하는 의인이 있고 자기의 악행 중에서 장수하는 악인이 있으니 16지나치게 의인이 되지 말며 지나치게 지혜자도 되지 말라 어찌하여 스스로 패망케 하겠느냐 17지나치게 악인이 되지 말며 우매자도 되지 말라 어찌하여 기한 전에 죽으려느냐 18너는 이것을 잡으며 저것을 놓지 마는 것이 좋으니 하나님을 경외하는 자는 이 모든 일에서 벗어날 것임이니라
19지혜가 지혜자로 성읍 가운데 열 유사보다 능력이 있게 하느니라 20선을 행하고 죄를 범치 아니하는 의인은 세상에 아주 없느니라 21무릇 사람의 말을 들으려고 마음을 두지 말라 염려컨대 네 종이 너를 저주하는 것을 들으리라 22너도 가끔 사람을 저주한 것을 네 마음이 아느니라
23내가 이 모든 것을 지혜로 시험하며 스스로 이르기를 내가 지혜자가 되리라 하였으나 지혜가 나를 멀리하였도다 24무릇 된 것이 멀고 깊고 깊도다 누가 능히 통달하랴 25내가 돌이켜 전심으로 지혜와 명철을 살피고 궁구하여 악한 것이 어리석은 것이요 어리석은 것이 미친 것인줄을 알고자 하였더니 26내가 깨달은즉 마음이 올무와 그물 같고 손이 포승 같은 여인은 사망보다 독한 자라 하나님을 기뻐하는 자는 저를 피하려니와 죄인은 저에게 잡히리로다
27전도자가 가로되 내가 낱낱이 살펴 그 이치를 궁구하여 이것을 깨달았노라 28내 마음에 찾아도 아직 얻지 못한 것이 이것이라 일천 남자 중에서 하나를 얻었거니와 일천 여인 중에서는 하나도 얻지 못하였느니라 29나의 깨달은 것이 이것이라 곧 하나님이 사람을 정직하게 지으셨으나 사람은 많은 꾀를 낸 것이니라.

Ecclesiastes 3
A Time for Everything
1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What does the worker gain from his toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on men. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. 12 I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. 13 That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toil—this is the gift of God. 14 I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
15 Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.
16 And I saw something else under the sun:
In the place of judgment—wickedness was there,
in the place of justice—wickedness was there.
17 I thought in my heart,
“God will bring to judgment
both the righteous and the wicked,
for there will be a time for every activity,
a time for every deed.”
18 I also thought, “As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Man’s fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?”
22 So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?
Oppression, Toil, Friendlessness
1 Again I looked and saw all the oppression that was taking place under the sun:
I saw the tears of the oppressed—
and they have no comforter;
power was on the side of their oppressors—
and they have no comforter.
2 And I declared that the dead,
who had already died,
are happier than the living,
who are still alive.
3 But better than both
is he who has not yet been,
who has not seen the evil
that is done under the sun.
4 And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man’s envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
5 The fool folds his hands
and ruins himself.
6 Better one handful with tranquillity
than two handfuls with toil
and chasing after the wind.
7 Again I saw something meaningless under the sun:
8 There was a man all alone;
had neither son nor brother.
There was no end to his toil,
yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.
“For whom am I toiling,” he asked,
“and why am I depriving myself of enjoyment?”
This too is meaningless—
a miserable business!
9 Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
10 If one falls down,
his friend can help him up.
But pity the man who falls
and has no one to help him up!
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Advancement Is Meaningless
13 Better a poor but wise youth than an old but foolish king who no longer knows how to take warning. 14 The youth may have come from prison to the kingship, or he may have been born in poverty within his kingdom. 15 I saw that all who lived and walked under the sun followed the youth, the king’s successor. 16 There was no end to all the people who were before them. But those who came later were not pleased with the successor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Ecclesiastes 7Wisdom
1 A good name is better than fine perfume,
and the day of death better than the day of birth.
2 It is better to go to a house of mourning
than to go to a house of feasting,
for death is the destiny of every man;
the living should take this to heart.
3 Sorrow is better than laughter,
because a sad face is good for the heart.
4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning,
but the heart of fools is in the house of pleasure.
5 It is better to heed a wise man’s rebuke
than to listen to the song of fools.
6 Like the crackling of thorns under the pot,
so is the laughter of fools.
This too is meaningless.
7 Extortion turns a wise man into a fool,
and a bribe corrupts the heart.
8 The end of a matter is better than its beginning,
and patience is better than pride.
9 Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit,
for anger resides in the lap of fools.
10 Do not say, “Why were the old days better than these?”
For it is not wise to ask such questions.
11 Wisdom, like an inheritance, is a good thing
and benefits those who see the sun.
12 Wisdom is a shelter
as money is a shelter,
but the advantage of knowledge is this:
that wisdom preserves the life of its possessor.
13 Consider what God has done:
Who can straighten
what he has made crooked?
14 When times are good, be happy;
but when times are bad, consider:
God has made the one
as well as the other.
Therefore, a man cannot discover
anything about his future.
15 In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these:
a righteous man perishing in his righteousness,
and a wicked man living long in his wickedness.
16 Do not be overrighteous,
neither be overwise—
why destroy yourself?
17Do not be overwicked,
and do not be a fool—
why die before your time?
18 It is good to grasp the one
and not let go of the other.
The man who fears God will avoid all [extremes].
19 Wisdom makes one wise man more powerful
than ten rulers in a city.
20 There is not a righteous man on earth
who does what is right and never sins.
21 Do not pay attention to every word people say,
or you may hear your servant cursing you—
22 for you know in your heart
that many times you yourself have cursed others.
23 All this I tested by wisdom and I said,
“I am determined to be wise”—
but this was beyond me.
24 Whatever wisdom may be,
it is far off and most profound—
who can discover it?
25 So I turned my mind to understand,
to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things
and to understand the stupidity of wickedness
and the madness of folly.
26 I find more bitter than death
the woman who is a snare,
whose heart is a trap
and whose hands are chains.
The man who pleases God will escape her,
but the sinner she will ensnare.
27 “Look,” says the Teacher,b “this is what I have discovered:
“Adding one thing to another to discover the scheme of things—
28 while I was still searching
but not finding—
I found one [upright] man among a thousand,
but not one [upright] woman among them all.
29 This only have I found:
God made mankind upright,
but men have gone in search of many schemes.”
Snow Storm Nemo Aftermath
It was indeed a little dreadful but everything went smoothly and calmly as this snow storm Nemo hits the state of Massachusetts last February 8, 2013. Four more states have been put under the Emergency Situation including NY, RI, CT, and Maine.
A potentially record-breaking snow storm has brought the US northeast to a grinding halt and left nine dead. Thousands lost power amid flight cancellations and a nuclear plant shutdown.
The recorded snow storm calamity brought a blizzard with it that showed how furious it was. It was like a hurricane with snow because of wind gusts that reached 120mph as recorded in Boston Logan, MA.
Historically, the storm's heavy snow and especially high winds toppled trees that caused power outages for more than 600,000 people across Massachusetts, New York, Maine, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
The blizzard alert in my place was made effective from 1:00pm of February 8, 2013 and it has been lifted around 1:00pm the next day.
I thank the LORD JESUS, for protecting everyone and that no large number of casualties were recorded.
It was my very first battle with a snow storm and it was indeed a remarkable one for me.
