Israel and Jerusalem: The Road To Armageddon

Bible Prophecy

Israel and Jerusalem:

The Road To Armageddon

"I (God) will bless those who bless  you (Israel) and will curse those who curse you"

(Gen 12:3)

UN Votes Whether To Comdemn Trump on Jerusalem Decision

The Bible warns the destiny of the World is inseparable from Israel and Jerusalem. The Bible says God would one day re-gather the children of Israel back into their land from among many nations around the world. The Bible says they would be re-gathered in unbelief ... God warns He is not re-gathering the children of Israel into their Land because they deserve it, but because His Name and His Word are at stake (see Ezekiel 36:17-23) ... and because He loves them. They are His chosen people. The Bible warns God would then make Jerusalem a world trouble spot. The Bible says all nations of the world will turn against Israel. The Bible warns during this time 'Gaza will be forsaken' ... and offers a stark warning. The Bible warns a coming world leader (the 'Antichrist') will rise out of 10 nations which once formed the Roman Empire and will enforce a peace plan or treaty (‘covenant’) upon Israel ('upon the many' - for many in Israel will be against it) ... and then, after a 3½ year false peace, God warns He will send the children of Israel (and all the nations of the world) through a fiery trial unlike anything in the history of the world, to separate those who will turn back to God and His Word from those who have hardened their hearts against God and His Word (the 'Apocalypse'). The Bible warns two-thirds of the people in Israel will be 'cut off and die' during this time. Then, one day when the armies of the world will gather in and around nation Israel (the coming battle of Armageddon) and when all seems lost for the children of Israel, the Bible says a believing remnant will recognize their Messiah from Scripture, and will call upon His Name. He will then return to save Israel. The Bible also tells us 'after these things' the little nation of Israel and the children of Israel will rule over all the nations on Earth, in peace, under her King and Messiah Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew). The Bible says all of the covenants, promises, curses, prophecies, and blessings God has made to the children and nation of Israel will be fulfilled ...

"Search from the Book of the LORD, and read,

    ‘Not one of these (prophecies) shall fail;

not one shall lack her mate.’

For My mouth has commanded it,

and His Spirit has gathered them."

     (Isaiah 34:16)

First ...

God said He would re-gather Israel back in the Land . . . on May 14, 1948 God’s prophetic clock started ticking again, loudly.

These prophecies are important because we can now watch the news, read a book on post World War II history, or look at a current map of the world and see there is now a nation called Israel. For almost 2,500 years - starting with the Jewish captivity under Babylon, then Persia, then Greece, then Rome; and, almost 2,000 years since the birth and rejection of the Messiah, when God held the children of Israel accountable, and then, using the Roman army, scattered the people into the nations around the world - the Jews have been dispersed. A people without a nation. However, God said He would one day re-gather the children of Israel into the Land which He has given them as a nation. Through His prophets God also warned He would then judge the children of Israel (and the whole world) at this time for their unbelief. This prophetic re-gathering, which this generation is now seeing take place, is to serve as a sign and a warning to the world that the Apocalypse, the "Day of the Lord," draws near . . .

"Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?

Shall the Earth be made to give birth in one day?

Or shall a nation be born at once?

For as soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to her children."

(Note: This prophecy was fulfilled in one day - on May 14, 1948)

(Isaiah 66:8)     (There is remarkable mathematical prophecy concerning this event below)

"He will set up a banner for the nations,

and will assemble the outcasts of Israel,

and gather together the dispersed of Judah

from the four corners of the Earth."   (Not just Babylon ...)

       (Isaiah 11:12)

     "Thus says the Lord God:

' Surely I will take the children of Israel

       from among the nations,

       wherever they have gone,

and will gather them from every side

and bring them into their own Land."

(Ezekiel 37:21)    ('Nations' plural ... this is not their return from Babylon)

"And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel,

and say, ‘O mountains of Israel,

hear the Word of the LORD ...’"

"But you, O mountains of Israel,

you shall shoot forth your branches

and yield your fruit to My people Israel,

for they are about to come . . ."

"For I will take you (the children of Israel) from among the nations,

gather you out of all countries,

and bring you into your own Land."

       (Ezekiel 36:1, 8, 24)

     "Thus says the Lord GOD:

‘Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, (plural ... not Babylon)

       wherever they have gone,

and will gather them from every side

and bring them into their own Land;’"

       (Ezekiel 37:21)

Now, search through history for a sovereign nation Israel . . .

   Year 500 BC?   "No."

   Year 300 BC?   "No."

   Year 100 BC?   "No."

   Year 200 AD?   "No."

   Year 500 AD?   "No."

   Year 1000 AD? "No."

   Year 1400 AD? "No."

   Year 1700 AD? "No."

   Year 1800 AD? "No."

   Year 1900 AD? "No."

   Year 1948 AD? "Yes!!!" ... There it is!!!  . . .  May 14, 1948!

How has the world reacted to such a profound fulfillment of Bible prophecy? A miracle that can be documented by simply looking at a map and a Bible. It has ignored it!  Just as God says most of the world will ignore the warnings of the coming Apocalypse. Remember, God uses prophecy to prove that He is who He says He is, and to authenticate the warnings and the promises found in the Bible.

The Bible warns a series of events (which will change the world forever) would begin after Israel would once again become a sovereign Nation (after almost 2,500 years) . . . This remarkable event took place on May 14, 1948!  How has the world reacted to such a profound fulfillment of Bible prophecy?  A miracle that can be documented by simply looking at the Bible and a map.   It has ignored it!   Just as God warned most of the world will ignore the signs of the coming 'Apocalypse' (also called 'the time of Jacob's trouble', the 'Great Tribulation,' and 'the Day of the Lord.').  Remember, God uses prophecy to prove He is who He says His is, and to authenticate all the warnings and the promises found in the Bible . . .

Then, Jerusalem:  "A Cup of Trembling"...

"Behold, I (God) will make Jerusalem

a cup of trembling    (anger, fear)

unto ALL the people (nations) round about . . ."

     (Zechariah 12:2)

"And in that Day   (the "Day of the Lord" ... the coming "Apocalypse")

     I (God) will make Jerusalem

     a burdensome stone

     for ALL people"

     (Zechariah12:3)

Don’t miss this . . . God says HE is the One stirring things up in Israel and Jerusalem!!!

Then, the struggle for 'Peace' and 'Security' . . .

Beware of 'Peace Plans' or 'Roadmaps to Peace'!

     "Because, even because

they have seduced My people (Israel),

       saying, "Peace"

and THERE WAS NO PEACE ..."

       (Ezekiel 13:10)

"For they have healed the hurt

of the daughter of My people slightly,

       saying, 'Peace, Peace;

       WHEN THERE IS NO PEACE!"

       (Jeremiah 8:11)

     "For you yourselves know perfectly

that the Day of the Lord  (the coming 'Apocalypse' and Armageddon)

so comes as a thief in the night.

FOR WHEN THEY SAY, "PEACE AND SAFETY!"

THEN SUDDEN DESTRUCTION COMES UPON THEM,

as labor pains upon a pregnant woman.

       And they shall not escape."

       (1 Thessalonians 5:2-3)

A terrible warning:  GAZA!!!

The Bible links GAZA to the coming "Apocalypse." Several years ago the world watched as all the Jews in Gaza were forcibly removed from their homes and their land ... even those buried in cemeteries were forcibly dug up from their graves and removed from Gaza. This 'uprooting' of the Jews from Gaza which the whole world watched on the news may be a much more 'significant' prophetic event than most realize ...

In the book of Zephaniah, God warns Gaza would one day be ‘forsaken' (yes, that same Gaza you have recently been watching on the world news). Gaza is in the land which was given to the tribe of Judah (Joshua 15:1-12), and one of Messiah's titles is "The Lion of the Tribe of Judah" (Revelation 5:5). God links the forsaking of Gaza to the coming 'Apocalypse,' which is also called 'The Day of God’s Wrath' and the 'Day of the Lord's Anger."

From these following passages in Zephaniah, God wants the children of Israel and ALL Mankind to learn and know at least three (3) things:

1.  First, God has issued a terrible warning and a 'plea' to both the children of Israel and to all people on Earth . . .

   "Gather yourselves together,

Yes, gather together O undesirable nation

(the nation who would willingly try to give God's land to her enemies)

     Before the decree is issued,

Before the day passes like chaff,

Before the Lord's fierce anger comes upon you,

Before the day of the Lord's anger comes upon you!

Seek the Lord, all you meek of the Earth

who have upheld His justice   (meaning ... this warning is also for everybody on Earth!)

     Seek righteousness,

     Seek humility.

It may be that you will be hidden

In the day of the Lord's anger."    (The coming 'Apocalypse' ... the 'Day of the Lord's Wrath')

2.  God wants all in Israel and on Earth to know what will help trigger this fierce and terrible anger:  Gaza!!   He warns, 'Gaza will be forsaken'... her inhabitants (the children of Israel) 'uprooted' and 'driven out' . . .

   "For Gaza shall be forsaken,

     And Ashkelon desolate;

They shall drive out Ashdod at noonday,

     And Ekron shall be uprooted.

Woe to the inhabitants of the seacoast,

     The nation of the Cherethites!

The word of the Lord is against you,

O Canaan, land of the Philistines (Palestinians):

   "I (God) will destroy you

So there shall be no inhabitant."  (All 'Palestinians' and their allies should take note ...)

Some import things to consider as we study these Bible prophecies and watch the news ...

-  Hamas is directed, trained, and equipped by Russia and Iran (study the prophecies of Russia and Iran).

-  If you do your homework you will find Israel discovered Russian Spetsnaz (special operations) forces infiltrated Gaza soon after Israel pulled out several years ago.

-  You will also find banks of Hamas tele-marketers made calls to America from Gaza to campaign for Obama during an early Presidential campaign.

- "Hamas" in the days of Noah. Jesus warned the generation of the coming ‘Apocalypse’ would be "as the days of Noah"...

"But as the days of Noah were,

     so also will the coming

of the Son of Man be ..."

     (Matthew 24:37)

To help us understand this prophecy God describes the generation of Noah as morally corrupt and "filled with violence." The Hebrew word translated "violence" in this passage was "HAMAS!!"

   "The Earth was corrupt

(like smelly, rotting meat ... immoral)

     before God,

     and the Earth was filled

     with violence ("hamas!")

(the Hebrew word for violence was ‘hamas’).

So God looked upon the Earth,

     and indeed it was corrupt;

     for all flesh had corrupted

     their way on the Earth.

     And God said to Noah,

   "The end of all flesh

     has come before Me,

     for the Earth is filled

     with violence (‘hamas’)

     through them;

     and behold,

     I will destroy them

with the Earth.’"   (Only 8 people on Earth were saved ...)

     (Genesis 6:11-13)

-  ALL people of the world should be sitting on the edge of their seats with white knuckles watching this terrible prophecy slowly start to unfold.

3.  God also wants all to know there is Hope.  He promises hope for all those who will wait in faith and trust in Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew) ... for one-day in the future, after the coming 'Apocalypse' ... the 'Day of God's Wrath' ... the terrible coming 'Day of the Lord' a remnant of the tribe of Judah will once again peacefully inhabit and prosper in that precious land God promised and gave to them ... and then, and only then, will there be 'peace on Earth.'   For at that time, our Messiah and God will restore all the Earth in peace and beauty ... as promised.

 "The seacoast shall be pastures,

With shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks.

   The coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah;

They (the remnant of the house of Judah)

   shall feed there flocks there (coastlands of Gaza);

In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down at evening.

The the Lord their God will intervene for them,

   And return their captives."

   (Zephaniah 2:1-7)

All Nations will then turn against Nation Israel ...

The Battle of Armageddon

The Bible warns around the time of the coming ‘Apocalypse’ and Armageddon ALL nations will turn against Israel. God has also warned those people and nations who will someday soon divide the Land of Israel ...

   "In those days

     and at that time,

     When I (God)

     bring back the captives

     of Judah and Jerusalem,

     (this will happen after 1948)

I will also gather ALL nations,

     And bring them down to

     the Valley of Jehoshaphat;

     (outside Jerusalem ... 2 Chronicles 20:1-30)

And I (God) will enter into judgment

     with them there

     On account of My people,

     My heritage Israel,

     Whom they have scattered

     among the nations;

     They have also DIVIDED

     up My Land."

     (Israel will be divided)

     (Joel 3:1-2)

   "And I saw three

     unclean spirits like frogs

     coming out of the mouth

     of the Dragon, (Satan)

out of the mouth of the Beast (Antichrist),

     and out of the mouth

     of the False Prophet

(the second Beast - a religious leader).

For they are spirits of demons,

     performing signs (miracles),

which go out to the kings of the

Earth and of the whole world,

to gather them to the battle

of that great Day of God Almighty ...

     And they gathered them together

to the place called in Hebrew,

     Armageddon."

     (Revelation 16:12-16)

The weapons will be used. Much of the world will be destroyed. Cities will disappear. Armageddon means the "Hill of Megiddo." Megiddo is part of the Plain of Esdraelon which is located in central Israel. Napoleon came through there and declared it to be the finest battlefield in the world. The whole world will be drawn into this war over Israel and Jerusalem. No nation will be spared. The Bible warns there will be three deadly waves associated with this conflict, including: A Russian lead invasion of Israel, a massive Chinese invasion of the Middle East, which will then be "joined" as the armies of the Antichrist march from all around the world to the place called "Armageddon." Jesus will return to engage this final battle Himself. He alone will destroy the enemies of Israel. We don’t know the timebetween events. We do know that God has set aside seven years to complete His plan with Israel, and this Age ...

"Thus says the LORD of Armies (Hosts):

     BEHOLD!

Disaster shall go forth from nation to nation ...

And at that Day the slain of the LORD

shall be from one end of the Earth

even to the other end of the Earth ..."

(Nobody will escape God's wrath after the 'Rapture')

     (Jeremiah 25:27-38)

   "For I (God)

     will gather ALL the nations

     to battle against Jerusalem,

the city (Jerusalem) shall be taken,

     the houses rifled, and

     the women ravished (brutally raped).

     Half of the city (Jerusalem)

     shall go into captivity,

but the remnant of the people

shall not be cut off from the city."

     (Zechariah 14:2)

"And it shall come to pass

     in all the Land (Israel),

     says the Lord,

     That two-thirds of it

shall be cut off and die,

but one-third shall be left in it:

(only 1/3 survive - fewer in the world)

     I will bring the one-third

     through the fire,

will refine them as gold is tested.

They will call on My Name,

     and I will answer them.

     I will say, 'This is My people';

     and each one will say,

    'the LORD is my God.'"

     (Zechariah 13:8-9)

   "Alas!

     for that Day is great,

so that none is like it:

     it is even the

     time of Jacob's (Israel’s) Trouble,

but he shall be saved out of it."

     (Jeremiah 30:7)

"At that time Michael (the Archangel)

     shall stand up,

     the great prince

     who stands watch over

     the sons of your people (Israel);

     and there shall be

     a time of Trouble (Tribulation),

     such as never was

     since there was a nation"

     (Daniel 12:1)

   "For there will be

     Great Tribulation (Trouble)

      such has not been since

     the beginning of the world

     until this time

     no, nor ever shall be.

     And UNLESS

     those days were shortened

NO flesh (living thing on Earth)

     would be saved"

     (Matthew 24:21-22)

Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach in Hebrew) warns NEVER in the history of Mankind has there ever been (or ever will be) anything as terrible and deadly as the coming "Apocalypse"... only a small remnant of the world will survive after the coming Antichrist commits "the abomination of desolations" when he will stand in a new Jewish Temple and demand to be worshiped above all that is called "god" ...

Resist It. You Can Do It!!

The Lord's Prayer
Seventh origin

Most of us think that there is no real enemy who is innocent to injure or kill them.

Satan made us think so. In the Bible, we call Satan a dragon, a lion, or a serpent, and say that Satan always wanders about to eat us. Satan is the enemy that brings real death. We are attacking our bodies, penetrating our minds, breaking our will and becoming a servant of sin. And I will take the slaves of sin with Him to hell with boiling fire.

"When you pray, say, 'Save us from evil only'" (Luke 11: 2, Matthew 6:13). Pray as above. Nowadays, when people just laugh at the word demon or hell, or when they speak without a clatter, the real meaning of this word is gone. But this is not a word that can be passed on to humor. - The power of darkness Satan (devil) is searching for anyone to swallow and will come to us.

When Jesus died and rose again, he trampled the head of the serpent (Satan). Everyone who believes in Jesus as Savior can receive forgiveness of sins, gain eternal life, and be at ease. Pray for the forgiveness of sins in Christ, the knowledge of God through the Word of God, the power to gain knowledge, and the salvation of death. In Heaven, there is no need to pray like this anymore.

A Place In Heaven

A Place In Heaven - Thomas Bergersen
http://youtu.be/QDxsNtWIBNc

This is one of the most beautiful and emotional songs I have ever heard too. Someone had plotted a story as the sound reverberate to the heart and soul longing for Jesus to come soon. The Holy Spirit of GOD is always with us.

• A PLACE IN HEAVEN •

A melodical description of this great sound to be heard someday~

0:00 – The world darkens, the beginning of the end. I stand helpless, waiting for what must come as a strange instrument’s sound echoes inside and outside of my head.

0:18 – The world comes to an end as the angels begin their beautiful song, calling, calling. Their voices pull on every fibre, every cell – everything knows that it is time. The reckoning has come.

0:45 – A single voice penetrates the angelic song. Through the darkness a light appears, emanating from the winged one from whose lips the heavenly voice rises. He comes.

1:00 – I find myself floating towards the light. Thoughts fade, matter fades, I fade. There is only the light.

1:15 – The song ends as I return to myself, looking around at the greatest hall I could never have imagined. Every living thing is assembled in the golden expanse, every eye turned towards the two empty thrones at the centre and the great doors behind them.

1:31 – The creatures bow, everyone on one knee with heads lowered. The lion, the eagle and man all acknowledge the coming of the true King.

1:45 – The song rises tenfold as the angels are echoed by the creatures. I bow low as the doors open, light coming forth. The purest of light, it causes all shadows to flee the hall instantly. The King and His Son walk through the great doors, the light arising from them in pulsating waves of true magnificence. I lower my head, unable to comprehend their terrible beauty.

2:15 – The song slows; I can only assume it does so because the King and the Prince have been seated on the throne. I bow my head lower, hoping desperately to escape my own unworthiness.

2:22 – The King and His Son do not sit down but rather walk towards me. I can only watch their feet as they stop directly in front of me.

2:38 – My heart flutters desperately as I raise my eyes to meet those of the King. His eyes are adorned with tears; their eternal depths filled with sadness and disappointment. I weep for my sins.

2:45 – The angels sing once more as light penetrates me, filling me, running through me. The light exposes every wrongdoing, every malicious thought, every untruthful word as light would expose the impurities in a diamond. I am naked, but my deeds seem to cover my body like tattered, filthy rags.

3:14 – The Prince kneels, lifting my head. His beautiful eyes fill my own, His smile chasing away my guilt. I somehow recall asking Him to take my place, sometime in the fallen world. With tears of joy He shows me His scarred hands, His face a picture of unconditional love – of love for me.

3:29 The Prince helps me to my feet. He lifts his hands to his head and removes the glorious crown from it, placing it on my own. I look down to find the rags gone, in their place a white robe matching the Princes own.

3:43 The King kisses my cheek with royal grace and with the love of a father. I weep uncontrollably as He leads me forwards towards the great doors. Tears of joy, tears of utter disbelief and tears of love pour from my eyes.

3:58 – The doors open, the great city of light lies beyond, reflecting the light of my King and His Son. By his scars I have a place in Zion. A place in Heaven.

🌸💞 BIBLE PASSAGE

“And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND Lord OF LORDS.

And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

This Is What HE Wanted For You

PROOF

We do not always know how faithful we are until we are tested. Trials have a way of exposing those areas where we are trusting in ourselves instead of relying on God. Paul encouraged these believers by showing them the value of God's sanctifying work in their lives.

The purpose in sanctification isn't to reveal a person's heart to God. He already knows! Rather, it is to reveal His heart to the person himself. This can be painful at times as we are confronted with the depths of our sin and challenged to mature spiritually

Pray for God to expose the "logs" in your eyes and the strength to embrace the sanctification process. Difficult times provide an opportunity to become more Christ-like and to be a humble example for our family.

Trials expose our weaknesses and challenge us to grow spiritually.

BIBLE PASSAGE:
“Brothers and sisters, we should always thank God for you. The Lord loves you. God chose you from the beginning. He wanted you to be saved. Salvation comes through the Holy Spirit's work. He makes people holy. It also comes through believing the truth.”

“주의 사랑하시는 형제들아 우리가 항상 너희를 위하여 마땅히 하나님께 감사할 것은 하나님이 처음부터 너희를 택하사 성령의 거룩하게 하심과 진리를 믿음으로 구원을 얻게 하심이니”

What Faith Means?

FAITH MEANS RELYING ON GOD

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:6 NLT)

Anytime we demonstrate faith, we’re relying on something. When you sit in a chair, you’re relying on the chair’s manufacturer to produce something that will hold you up. When you’re on the freeway, you’re relying on every other driver around you.

Faith in God means we rely on him and depend on His reliability. Having faith means realizing that God is bigger, greater, and better than me – and He loves me greatly.

Proverbs 14:12 says, “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death” (NLT). That's the problem with relying on yourself. We’re often wrong. Human intuition is not always reliable. In fact, it’s just good enough to make us think we’re right – even when we’re not.

Genuine faith is relying on God's direction and on who he is. God is reliable. He knows what you need, and he wants to meet those needs. Unfortunately, we think we know better. We think we have a better plan. We want to use our logic and get to the answer in a way that makes us look good – and doesn’t require risk. But God wants us to grow, so he takes us a different way.

Many times in Scripture, God asks us to do what doesn’t make sense to our logic. For example, Mark 10:43 says, “Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant”(NLT). To most people, that verse doesn’t make sense; you’d think great people would have others serving them. Jesus says it’s the other way around – the great people are the ones serving others. I need to trust what God says about greatness, not what I think.

God also says we’re to honor Him by giving the first 10 percent of our income back to him. By our reason, that doesn’t make much sense to us. But we’re to lean on God’s understanding, not our own.

Because we trust him, we obey what he says – even if it doesn’t make sense to us.

WHAT IS FAITH IN GOD?

God will give you strength to make it through if you have faith in Him. Faith is placing your complete trust in Jesus Christ, believing He will do what He says. Abraham's faith should be a model for all Christians.

So how do we find out what faith is? We should always first go to the Bible to see if It offers us a definition of any term or concept under consideration. In Heb 11:1 we indeed read a Biblical definition of faith: "Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen". This verse tells us that faith is a conviction that we have regarding something that allows us to be able to act on it as if it were assured of happening. But where does such assurance come from? A lot of people have the above scripture memorized but then when you ask the question about where does faith come from, you either get a "I don't really know" or somebody saying that it comes from within with the implication that faith is something we develop ourselves.

Now let us go to the Bible and see if It tells us where faith comes from. Heb 12:2 says "...Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith". And Rom 12:3 says " ... God has allotted to each a measure of faith.” These two verses clearly tell us that faith is not something that we do or a presence of mind that we develop, but that faith is a gift from God. Rom 10:17 says " ... faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ." So faith is a gift from God that we receive from the word of Christ, which in this dispensation we get from the Bible rather than from a burning bush. So in His time He will allot faith to us as needed from the word of the Bible. In 2 Cor 10:15 we see that faith can grow, so as we study the Bible God can add to our faith.

FAITH IS NOT THE SAME AS BELIEF

Rom 9:30-32 tells us that righteousness is by faith. Rom 10:6-10 again tells us that the origin of righteousness is faith, and since all Christians should say that salvation is not by works then we must also say that faith is not by our works lest we should boast. Matt 21:21 is an oft-quoted scripture but read it carefully. It says that if we have faith and doubt not then everything that we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive. How do we get what we pray for? First it has to be based on faith and we have seen the origin of faith is God and not us. So first God has to tell us something will come to pass. Then we act on that faith with a believing heart and we can do so without doubt for God has said so, then the event will come to pass. This type of input is in seen in the Old Testament when God first told His people that the battle had been won, and all they had to do was act it out. I do not mean that God talks to us today apart from the Bible. We are in a different dispensation. The revelation from God is complete with Revelation so do not expect to hear some voice telling you that you are going to get that particular job. God does reveal in His Word all that we need to know to be able to ask according to His will.

FAITH IS THE CAUSE AND BELIEF IS THE EFFECT

The above scripture also contrasts faith and belief. Thus faith is not the same as belief. But we must have faith and believe so what does this mean? It means that we must be firmly rooted in our faith. Having faith means that God has given us His insight into something and we are NOT TO DOUBT it but believe that this faith is of God. Again I must state that this insight comes from the Bible’s revelation of the character of God and not from any other source. We are not to be blown about like a leaf in the wind, getting some faith from God and then getting it mixed up with something else like New Age philosophy or something else. Sometimes we want something so badly for ourselves that it is very difficult for us to believe that God does not want it for us also. So when the faith comes from God about that situation, we don't want to believe it. But if we have faith and believe, we will receive. This means that we will be perfectly aligned with the will of God and not with our will. It is easy to get cause and effect mixed up and that is what happens with a lot of people regarding faith and belief. We can believe because we have faith that came from God. Without faith from God, we cannot believe. Faith is the cause and believe is the effect. A great definition of faith is the empowering of God. God empowers us to believe, trust, repent, hope, etc.

SO HAVING HUGE FAITH or 100% IS DEFINITELY NOT BEING PROUD!! It is a gift from GOD and is not coming of our own control.

When is our faith completed? Eph 4:11-16 tells us that God gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers in order to build up the body of Christ until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man. This is talking about what we call sanctification. God provides justification by faith, sanctification by faith, and finally glorification. When we stand before Him in our glorification (Luke 21:36), then will our faith be finally completed or fulfilled.

Faith is the enabling power of God. I really like this as a working definition for it totally eliminates a man-based origin and applies well to all of the above. We then see that

• Justification is by the enabling power of God.
• Sanctification is by the enabling power of God.
• Glorification is by the enabling power of God.
